LAWRENCE JONES: I guess my big question is, is he upholding state and federal law right now?
JOHN McKINNEY (LA Deputy District Attorney): No. Absolutely not. Our district attorney is nullifying important laws. And he's doing it explicitly, and unapologetically. He's not charging special circumstances. He's not charging gun allegations. He's not charging gang allegations. He eviscerated the gang unit that we had to suppress gang crime in this county.
LJ: Why?
JM: Because he wants to see fewer people go to jail and prison, and he wants to let a lot of the ones who are already in there out before they've been properly rehabilitated.

Never before had any state asked the court to do what Texas proposed, to nullify election results from other states... "Texas proposes an extraordinary intrusion into Wisconsin's and the other defendant states' elections, a task that the Constitution leaves to each state," the state said in its response to the suit. "Wisconsin has conducted its election and its voters have chosen a winning candidate for their state. Texas's bid to nullify that choice is devoid of a legal foundation or a factual basis."

The justices took such a move earlier this week when they tossed a request from Trump-allied Pennsylvania Republicans to nullify Biden’s certified victory in the Keystone State — a state Biden won by more than 81,000 ballots.
