Chris McGreal quoted David Cox in The Guardian today: “the Democrats had been damaged goods in Dayton since Bill Clinton signed the North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta) and thousands of factory jobs were shipped to Mexico after 1994.” McGreal also quoted the former Ohio congressman Tim Ryan, who told a 2022 election rally: “You’ve seen a broken economic system where both parties have sold out to the corporate interests that shift our jobs down to the southern part of this country, then to Mexico, then to China. There is no economic freedom if there’s no jobs here in the United States.”
Daniel J. Flynn wrote in The American Spectator three days ago, “Trump faces four criminal cases involving 91 charges in four jurisdictions. If convicted of each charge, the former president faces more than 717 years in jail.”
On June 8, 2020, Amnesty International wrote, “South Africa’s apartheid policy of the mid-20th century sanctioned racial segregation. It barred non-white South Africans from political and economic equality. People held strikes and protests against their government’s apartheid policy for decades. This, along with economic sanctions, led to the end of apartheid in the 90s. Nelson Mandela played a central role in the movement, and spent 27 years in prison for it. After the dismantling of apartheid, Mandela became South Africa’s first
democratically elected leader.”

MantraCare recommends volunteering at a homeless shelter: “Shelters are an especially good place to work with mental illness because they take in people who are often dealing with depression or other mental illnesses that come when living without consistent housing. Plus, when you volunteer for this type of organization, you’re giving mentally ill people hope when they need it most.”
